Hello again,
With mixed feelings, I give you the last day in Paris. It was a fabulous trip, not just for the eyes but for many other reasons, and I am happy I could share some of it with everybody. But I can easily say I am relieved to be home again in northern Alberta, after a long flight and a very long drive up from Calgary.
This day, we took it easy, and went on a trip to the Luxembourg Gardens, which are lovely. The day was ripe for reading, relaxing and drinking wine. It was a treat to be able to drink in public, I can tell you. However, my somewhat inebriated state did not diminish my appreciation for the beautiful things around me.
Here it is, the Luxembourg Gardens, as well as the Luxembourg Palace, which houses the French Senate. This is only a fraction of the full size of the gardens
As with all french gardens, it seems, the Luxembourg Gardens included a large fountain, with some very friendly ducks to boot.
The fountain was also a spot for children to try their hand at the classic mini sailboat, watching them sail from one side of the round fountain to the other, and then turn them around at the other side. Paris was also a great place to people watch, and with so many people taking photos, you look like much less of a creep, to be honest.
The gardens were just filled with blooming, fragrant flowers, which I could not keep myself from taking pictures of.
There was some lovely architecture as well. The curve of these pots gives some real depth to this photo.
Here it is, the metaphoric end to our trip. This is the sunset we saw the day before from Notre Dame, so it really belongs in that post, but I couldn’t help myself from being heavy handed and metaphorical. It took some doing to show the buildings in this photo, and not just have them as a silhouette, but that is what shooting in raw format can do for you.
There it is, the end. I hope you enjoyed my photos throughout my trip to Paris. Hopefully it gave you a glimpse into what it was like to be there, and here is hoping your next trip is to Gay Paris! That’s a whole lot of hope, but hey, why not.
